Herry Dim
Indonesia, b. 1955
Art is the path of wandering to the destination as far as and as widely as possible. We always find miracles, passions, freedom, and the peak of happiness at at each point of destination.
Similarly, Herry Dim's statement as written in one of his works. Furthermore he said: "The art way always brings him to meet with artists from different times and lives. Each meeting opened the way to greet each other, talk, and dig up his techniques to then use my own language."
It is not surprising that from him were born works such as "Hi Freud, Hi Dali, Hi Miró" who address Sigmund Freud, Salvador Dali, and Joan Miró, "Ketuk Tilu Naek Pablo" (Three Tap Dance Up to Pablo) in the meaning of dancing with Pablo Picasso, or "Bercanda dengan Gogh" in the sense of joking with van Gogh, etc.
Herry Dim has ever painted in various sizes even a work with size 5 X 140 X 240 cm titled "gonjanghanjingnegeriku" (1998). "My body is in canvas when painting with large size, cosmological, and now painting with a super small size, 7 x 7 cm, I was out, hugging, watching, ontologically," he said.
Herry Dim is also known as a theater stage designer, music and literary lover, art and cultural writer, and environmental activist.
